That man was never a good artist,you should see the paintings that Moreen has done,now theres a lady who missed her way.x

I like his work owddave. I have a few of his paintings. Not originals but I wish they were. I think I've seen one or two of Maureen's master pieces. Sue's dog and an Indian chief. I agree she is a very talented lady

So thy are going past the mill in Pendlebury to go to the match . I've just checked and my"coming home from the mill" has the same mill in the background

Drawn In Exhibition ~ Turnpike Gallery
Leigh’s The Turnpike Gallery has reopened with a 50th anniversary celebratory exhibition (BWCN)
‘Drawn In’ will run from Sat 2nd April - Sat 11th June
Tues - Sat, 10am - 4pm
Free entry
The exhibition features local, regional and nationally renowned artists, including work by Henry Moore, who was the first artist to have his work shown at the gallery in 1971, and paintings by L S Lowry, whose work was exhibited at The Turnpike in 1972.

Yes, I saw this on the BBC news Lolly and thought of you.
Blimey, £6.3 million it sold for.
I doubt if Lowry could ever have imagined the value of his paintings.
I do like his work, he established a style and stuck with it, also he didn’t paint his locations accurately, he just made them a passable representation of what they were.
The famous one mentioned on here of Bolton Wanderers Stadium called ‘Going to the Match’, is not a perfect image of the ground but I love it.
