I would agree with that. The tram in the photo was manufactured in 1902. Not sure when they sropped using the open tops though, at a guess, around 1920 or so.

Is Lowes in the picture? I think lowes opened in the late 1800s

I thought the tram hut was Lowes, onlooking again I'd say it was a tram hut

Thanks for posting that lolly.
I've spent a little time today trying to identify the tram in the Old Market place picture. I know that it can only be one of two different models used by the Corporaton, but which one of those it is cant be seen in the photo. I do know it was built in Preston, and prior to 1905.

Thanks Lolly. I did see that list, its the reason I knew that the trams were built in Preston.

It's nice to see what the town and people looked like at the time of my fathers birth in 1902.
