Re: Wigan Peers Friday Night Pub Quiz 20-9-19
Thanks for the grey cell workout. I agree with Maureen, take your time tomorrow and enjoy it. If you like such things as churches, take a detour to Cartmel. Beautiful and interesting Priory Church, in a medieval village that has hardly changed, fish stones still exist in the main square. There are also some lovely places to eat, (and quite a few shops for Mrs RMJ ). Dont forget the Bells made in Wigan.

Re: Wigan Peers Friday Night Pub Quiz 20-9-19
Thank you Weatherwax, some interesting info there.
We haven't decided on a route back yet, we tend to see what we feel like 'on the day'.
We sometimes go to Skipton and have a meal at The Bull on the main A59.
Really good food, not cheap, but not too dear either.

Well, if you do go to Cartmel, dont be drawn in by L'Eclume, It has won every restaurant award that there is, and by gum, do the prices show it. It is one of the top restaurants in the British Isles.

Re: Wigan Peers Friday Night Pub Quiz 20-9-19
I’ll bear that in mind WW.
I watch all the food programmes on TV, but I do find I have a particular aversion to these pretentious ‘poncy’ meals that these ‘high end’ fine dining restaurants turn out, especially when gravy is called ‘jus’, and they decorate the plate with swirls of this and that, no Sireeee!!!!!!!

Re: Wigan Peers Friday Night Pub Quiz 20-9-19
Seems we are a bit light of postings tonight, well it is the holiday season.
It’s a pity that Corky, Lima Lima and AWP have not made the journey over here, they are all good quizzers.
I wonder if Gassey is in Blackpool again, it does seem to be his favourite place
Yours truly is taking a break now for a few scoops.
I’ll mark any latecomers and post the answers tomorrow, but it will be after ‘tea’ as we’re travelling back home during the day, the long way round to spin the day out.
Night night.
