Anyone living close to City Rd Kitt Green/Orrell Will remember this scary lady, or so we thought as kids.

No never came across the old dear .

She was always standing on her doorstep, her house was just down from the Brookhouse City RD on the opposite side of the street. Us kids used to think her name was Snurch. It was only when I grew up that folk would say what a heart of gold she had.

She had 2 daughters one called Miriam, a lovely lady. I think lizzies face shows that she may have experienced a lot of

hardship in her life.
