I used to own my Irish grandmas but silly me let one of my nephews borrow it to show someone else..and I never got it back ..I'm still annoyed about it.

I made one once, from a blackthorn growing in my garden. There was only one narrow upright with flowers on in spring and it was quite scrawny..... So, I dug it up and it had a fine root like a club so I shaped it into a shillelagh but I put it in the shed to dry. It dried too quickly and split. I was gutted over that. rabbit
