Pepper Mill..??

Anyone remember Pepper Mill???

We used to live nearly facing it Fred.

Mo, I remember the name, but cannot place it.

Do tell..!!!

Fred,it was on the corner of Darlngton St lights going up to Darlington St East..we lived facing but just around the corner,onWarrington Lane.

It was also known as the Brass Foundry too Fred.

Maureen , when they built the 'new' police station in Wigan , as opposed to the old one in King Street , people referred to that area as Pepper Mill , ...was that right .

Nordic..I haven't heard that said..but if you or admin want to know more about the Pepper Mill..if you go to WW and type 'Pepper Mlll' in the search box,you can find more about it..but again Nordic I would love to know why the new Police Station is given the name..is it because it's very near to where the original Mill was.

Where Lidl is now.

Maureen and MrD , from the photo's on WW I can now see where it was .The PO used to back onto the River Douglas , and it ran the length of the car park so 'Pepper Mill was on the other side lower down to the River bridge . The photo's mention 1980 , so it must have been ther when I was there , the memory fails sometimes , thanks for that.

That’s a great pic, Lolly. I remember walking past it many times in the way into Wigan.
Now where Lidl and its car park are.

As we all travelled by bus back then, I do remember that Pepper Mill and Standish were much the same.

If you were on the upstairs of the bus,you could see all the equipment through the upper windows as you drove past.
