Breathtaking, a difficult, draining three-part mini-series created by Jed Mercurio, Prasanna Puwanarajah and the doctor-cum-writer Rachel Clarke, is based on the latter’s 2021 memoir, which chronicled the experience of working for the NHS during the first Covid-19 wave. As a dramatisation set in a fictional London hospital, the show clearly cannot rival the immediacy of news footage or the unsparing intensity of the Wuhan-set documentary 76 Days.

Yes I watched it and will be watching again tonight..I finished up in tears.. why oh why aren't the nursing staff paid more..they went to hell and back during that dreadful epidemic.

It'll be 4 years in April and I'm still not over it.

I've seen a few reports where people have said that airing this programme was too soon.
People are still trying to cope with what happened to them,
