Remember your mum handing you a shopping bag to go to the shops for her. She said get the potatoes first as they were tipped into the bottom of the bag...no plastic back then.

The Saddleback photo , would that be Fleet Street / City Road in the background I wonder . and the Montrose photo would the council houses be the backs of the houses in Severn Drive / end of Norley Hall Ave; I also too aswell wonder .

I think if that was Fleet St then the pic should be labeled Saddleback Crescent.I dont think you could see Fleet Street from Saddleback Rd.

Saddleback Road in 1951. Looks like the top end with the field which we played on. Anyone recognise the house across the field? I wonder if it was the farm which existed when we moved into Helvellyn Rd in 1952.

There was a house on Norley Rd. You had to cross a brook to get to it. I think to the left of the pic
out of sight would be where the Brookhouse pub stood on City Rd
